I'm a legacy customer of present and past mergers...35 yrs so far. I hate business related heartburn caused by things like banks. But, Truist and their past names have kept me a loyal personal banking client. NICE!! MY ISSUE: I, like everyone on the planet gets multiple daily email and text hacks, spam, spoofs, phishing, etc. So recently Truist's algorithms suspected an attempt to fraud my account. I applaud them, BUT the way I was notified was a Text that identified them as Truist and the recent transaction. The Text wanted me to acknowledge with a YES if the transaction was legitimate, but when I replied YES, it informed me the message was going to be sent to a random 6-digit Text recipient, like commercials for energy pills, supplements, etc ("Text xxxxxx to receive your free trial supply of junk"). Truist's message was no different, as weirdly similar to the daily scans asking for responses or clicking mystery links, etc. So I didn't, and my card was later Blocked. My App page didn't not show any card issues, so I felt I did a wise thing. Their phone number method didn't recognize me. Eventually I had to drive to a branch to get a real life human to address it. The 6-digit text address was indeed legitimate. MY ISSUE: WHY IN THIS WORLD OF ATTEMPTS TO PHISH AND FRAUD WOULD A BANK OF ALL PLACES ELECTRONICALLY SEND IMPORTANT INFO IN SIMILAR MANNER AS THE SCAMMERS!!!! Treat your clients like they are not up with all your efficiency A.I. tech and changes. I didn't like heartburn!!

Wanted to cash a check from an electric supplier in Florida drawn from SunTrust. Old white lady with white hair takes the check, literally huffs at me when I say no I don't have an account with SunTrust. She punches in no numbers, does not scan the check, just looks at her computer screen and at the check. She then proceeds to tell me it's a "zba account" and the only way for me to get the money is to deposit it into my account with my bank. I leave that bank, go to the next closest SunTrust and they cash it no questions asked. Sorry that we weren't dressed well since we're working class people but if you only knew the level of frustration, the level of limited resources that had to be expended solely based on the fact that you didn't want to do your job you'd most assuredly rethink your actions.

I have been a SunTrust account holder for years and the Westminster branch has the most wonderful bunch of people working there. They are all so friendly and all willing to go above and beyond to help you. The Manager Ray is the best!!! He has helped me more times than I can count! He is very professional, informative, and friendly. He is wonderful! SunTrust, don't let him get away! I hope you are compensating him well for his terrific service!!
