- DDDan DevlinOct 30, 20252.0My recent experience was eye opening. I went in to cash 8 savings bonds on Monday. The branch was empty at the time but the teller informed me that it would take up too much of her time to help me and I should come back on Wednesday when there would be two tellers. I appealed to the branch manager who said only tellers can cash in bonds and that she couldn’t help me. Come back on Wednesday when we will have two tellers available she recommended . Mind you the bank was empty at the time. Just me. Well I returned on Wednesday and guess what? One teller again who couldn’t help me. Don’t know what happened to teller number two. But this time the manager who previously said that only tellers cash bonds decided to help me. She tried to process the bonds but shorted me $40,000. I had to tell her to recount the bonds which she did promptly and corrected her error. I will say both employees were courteous but the sense of customer service and professionalism under the new ownership is concerning.
