Ike spelled account holder name incorrectly. Asked him to fix, he made new errors. Third time, he got the address wrong. Wasn’t until the fourth attempt he got it right. He typed with two fingers, poking at the keyboard… Something that shouldn’t have taken more than 15 - 20 min lasted 1.5 hr because of an inept employee who is a “senior” associate… zero efficiency. Take your banking needs elsewhere.

This bank has declined substantially since merging into Truist. They have made several mistakes with my small business accounts including freezing my funds because the signature page of a document I signed didn't go through their fax to corporate. Freezing the funds would have been fine only they didn't tell me they did it so I sent out checks to numerous people and they all bounced making me look like an idiot and causing me to rack up hundreds of dollars in returned check fees that they then didn't want to pay (but finally did). I really do not trust this bank and the staff at the local branch does nothing to improve my confidence.

BB&T at Kentlands is great, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I saw many negative reviews about BB&T, so decided to look up reviews for 7 other area banks and read even worst reviews for those banks. I've been banking for over 20 years, both business (hundreds of checks per month) and personal, including mortgages, and have never had a problem with any bank, save those of my own error. Take all reviews with a grain of salt. There are a couple big banks out there that I would not personally deal with, but BB&T is certainly not one of them.
