According to Capital One's website, this type of account can be opened in-person at a branch, so I intended to stop in, ask my questions, then open an account. Instead, I was told by the employee that they don't open any accounts in-person, but that he could walk me through opening it myself online. How idiotic. If I wanted to do everything online, I would choose a different bank, with a higher APY (because there are many). Capital One's advantage over those other banks is that it has physical branch locations where people can come in and easily ask any questions they may have, without the hassle of dealing with "support" chatbots. This whole experience was really frustrating. Either let prospective customers open accounts in-person if desired, or Capital One needs to remove that statement from their website.
