- VFVlad FrenelApr 8, 20251.0I recently called First Citizens Bank to inquire about opening a business account and to ask questions about some of the business products they offer. Unfortunately, my experience was far from professional or welcoming. I spoke with a representative named Natalie, who was noticeably short and dismissive during the conversation. When I mentioned that I currently bank with Wells Fargo, she immediately responded with, “We typically don’t do business with customers that bank with another institution.” That statement was shocking and quite frankly, false. I’ve never heard of a bank turning away potential business clients based solely on where they currently bank—especially when someone is expressing genuine interest in opening a new account. Natalie’s attitude was not only off-putting, but also completely unprofessional. To have someone represent a financial institution with such a distasteful and discriminatory approach is disappointing. First impressions matter, and based on this interaction, I will be taking my business elsewhere—and advising others to do the same.
