  Let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer incompetence of Matt Kilcoyne, the so-called “solutions manager” at this branch — a title that would be hilarious if the situation weren’t so infuriating. I’ve been banking with IC for years, long before I got married. When I finally decided to take my husband’s last name, every legitimate government agency on planet Earth had no issue updating my identity. The Social Security Administration? No problem. The Massachusetts RMV? Smooth as butter. The U.S. Department of State? Happily processing my passport. But this branch — and specifically this manager — decided that they know better than all federal and state authorities combined. According to Matt, my legally accepted marriage certificate isn’t good enough. Nope. In his world, I apparently need to drag myself to court and get a judge to sign off on a “legal name change,” as if marriage certificates don’t already serve that exact purpose. So there I sat, in his office, with my husband, my driver’s license bearing my updated legal name, and my marriage certificate — all valid, all accepted everywhere else — and Matt tells me I’m “out of luck.” His explanation? That the name on my driver’s license… isn’t actually my legal name. Imagine the level of confidence required to tell a customer that the government-issued ID in their hand is wrong, and he is right. It would be impressive if it weren’t so utterly ridiculous. --- Update… I spoke with Chris Downs, AVP — and shocker, still no actual help. He nodded along, pretended to “understand,” and even threw in the completely irrelevant anecdote that his wife didn’t like the hassle of changing her name either. Great story, Chris. Unfortunately, that does nothing to solve the fact that your bank is the only institution on earth creating this problem. Instead of fixing anything, he asked me for more documentation — documents that do not exist and are not required by the state, the RMV, Social Security, or literally any other agency that handles legal identity. It’s almost impressive: two managers, zero solutions, and a full commitment to policies that contradict the actual law that are not preventing fraud in this case.

  Just go to leomimster branch it’s worth the drive! My job doesn’t allow direct deposit so when I went through the drive through weekly they gave me attitude and passive aggressively send me online banking set up info as if depositing my one check is such a hassle. Finally got my online banking, tried calling because I had troubles, I was treated poorly with attitude after being on hold for 15 minutes. No thanks.

  The customer service is wonderful, they are very healthy and the managers are very knowledgeable and will give good advice and those questions they can't, they send you to someone who can.
