- TMT MOct 13, 20251.0Given insurance is a predatory industry, my experience with Mass Mutal has been one of the worst experiences I had in my lifetime. If had known back in 1985 when I bought into the b.s. their rep delivered that they would be so bad, I would not have entered into any contract with them. Unfortunately, it has taken 35 or so years for their true colors to show, and now it’s too late to bail out without losing most everything I’ve invested. Kudos to you folks for a great disguised extortion scheme reinforced by the lousy customer service and refusal to provide any information of any substance so as to prevent me for gaining the knowledge I need to understand what’s happening with my account. Also, this company is conveniently stuck in the stone age, no electronic access to any account info, forcing you to wait on snail mail and hope you do not fall into arrears in the process. Not sure if they keep the customer service rep’s ignorant or teach them to be coy when responding to inquiries, either way, don’t expect any useful results when contacting them. By Far and Away, the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of having to associate with.
- MRMitchell RichmanSep 10, 20251.0Purchased a long term care policy for my wife and I many years ago. For the past several years, the company has passed on 18+% increases to the premium! Of course they say you can reduce your coverage to make the cost more manageable, but that is not a viable option. Who passes on such a large increase every year? They clearly hope you either drop the policy or reduce the coverage so much they won't have to pay out when the time comes. Is this legal? Probably so. It is ethical and moral, clearly the answer is no. Stay away from the company, at least with regard to long term care coverage.

I can't emphasize enough if you need insurance of any kind do your research for a reputable company this one is not it. MassMutual what is the purpose of being rude right from the start of calling in on a claim you sent me a letter on? Especially when it involves the death of a family member? Do you just want to cause extra pain? One star is an over rating for this company!
