I've only had this account for a month and im deciding to close it ASAP.
First: when I first opened it the guy who helped me was really nice. He kept trying to push me for a credit card but I told him I wasn't interested, I just wanted a basic checking and savings. That's something I've noticed with the window employees, they are REALLY pushy and I had to keep telling him No. He then told me about overdraft protection and said that it was a free service to keep me from taking out too much money. I said this was great since I'm a single parent and even working at the post office, I make peanuts, so every cent goes a long way. He also told me I 9nly had to have 5 dollars always in my savings account to keep it open.
Barely 3 days later and I couldn't get into the app at all. It was crashing everytime I logged in and I had to go into the branch to find out they were having a server issue.
A week in and I went in again because I still couldn't log in to my account. It turns out the guy who helped me had put my phone number in wrong and we had to do my login all over again. It worked, and I started to do a system where I would cash my check at work and put 900 in every paycheck. The guy still tried to push a credit card on me and again I said I have NO INTEREST.
Cut to a month later, I have not been able to access my account AGAIN. This time for a week and a half. I have my card locked so I'm not worried and I haven't received any text notifications that anythings wrong so i waited to my next day off (my job had me on forced overtime and Juneteenth was a holiday) so I went in on a Saturday after I got my paycheck on Friday. Told the girl how I was having problems with my account and she helped me reset it. I found out that ALL 900 of my dollars WAS GONE. I also had 280 dollars in overdraft fees which had me even more confused, since I was NEVER TOLD ABOUT SUCH FEES and my FREAKING CARD WAS LOCKED. Both me and the employee confirmed it was locked, but she said it may have somehow bypassed it. I voiced that if i had known about the fees I NEVER would have opened an account with them.
She then said that she couldn't cash my check because of the fees, so I told her to give me back check and I would cash it at work and put 900 in my account as usual and just let this go. I also said I wanted to turn off any and all overdraftservices. Ahe said okay, took my id card and debit card, and THEN ASKED IF I WANTED A CREDIT CARD. I said NO I just want mycheck. She then revealed that she had "accidentally" deposited my check and had pulled up some credit card info for me to sign l. I said NO. First off, she didn't give me back my check when I told her ro. I kept saying that I have 15 mins to get to work and she wouldn't give me back my state id card. I told her this is none of the things I wanted and she said I could talk to a manager and take a seat. By this point I have 5 mins to get to work, so she tells me my check will be cleared on my account on Monday.
Monday comes-still no money.
I went back to tD and spoke with a manager who said she would get everything cleared for me. Apparently girl had put me down as a brand new account, even though I had my account for a monthnow, and the manager even said that she should have just given me my check since it's a federal check and I would've just Cashed it at work and brought in the funds. The girl said she was "sorry" and that my money would be made availableTuesday. Her manager gave me her # and told me to call if it didnt.
Welp, its Tuesday. And guess what-STILL NO MONEY. I have rent, electric, childcare and groceries to pay for and no paycheck to do it with. I'm going to get my money and CLOSE OUT MY ACCOUNT ASAP.
DO NOT USE TD BANK.
