At our core is a belief in the people who serve you, an honest interest in your financial well being, and a continued commitment to the place where we live and work. We're more than a bank. We're your partner.
I don’t think I would necessarily recommend them for a mortgage provider. They kept trying to force me to move all of my banking assets over to them to get a better deal.
Then, I was also trying to add a home improvement line of credit to build a garage. The appraiser they got for the property lowballed the price in my opinion so we didn’t have enough equity to work with the build. Then, the guy told me that I could open a $50k line of credit at like 9% interest and when I paid that off it would still be available as liquid assets. I then told him that would be debt and not liquid assets. I told him I didn’t need or want debt. He kept trying to push it like it was the best thing since sliced bread
Then, the guy tried to get me to pay an appraiser $400 to come out to appraise the property again as if it already had a garage on it.
We got the mortgage but they quickly sold it to Citizens Bank. We are not sure but someone through this process sold our information because we keep getting phone calls, emails, and texts about trying to get mortgage insurance. Just be careful and educated about this process. You don’t need to have all the bells and whistles they offer. Also, you may want to consider finding your own appraiser rather than having a bank pick it.
