Since he's died, I've been learning how to do my taxes on my own and it makes me feel connected to my dad going through taxes each year now on turbotax, which is what he would do. I have so many memories of my dad gathering the family together to go through taxes every year and asking me for 1099's and my w2's and I'd see him painstakingly peer over his glasses and enter line by line into the software year after year. I had a really great experience working with Dina (I believe that was her name, I'm sorry if I misremembered!) from turbotax on my return filing this year. I'd like to believe that my dad is wryly smiling from on high watching me keep up the turbotax torch and being personally responsible as a tax payer. Thanks Dad and thanks Turbotax.
