- JBJ BAug 7, 20231.0Be careful banking here. Went in to make a deposit today and the teller started asking a bunch of questions about things that are none of her business. When I asked why she needed to know these things she shoved a paper in front of me saying some about money laundering and terrorism. I know there are some laws that have been in place for 20+ years but my deposit was not near those thresholds. FWIW the money was earned legally and has already been reported for taxes but if this bank wants to interrogate me like a criminal for having cash then there are other local banks that won't harass me when trying to deposit money in their bank. Hate to think it but I felt like I was being racially profiled.
