I have been with Beacon Credit Union for close to 20 years and have never had a bad experience. I have visited other locations over the years but mostly deal with everyone in the New Haven, Indiana branch and I have nothing but great things to say about everyone there and any service I have had. I know at times I have so many questions about decisions, they never tell me what to do but simply give me all the information so that I can make a good, informed decision. As long as there's a Beacon, I will never bank any place else.

Although I have over half a million dollars in assets in Florida, Beacon Credit Union in New Haven Indiana would not know that. Being early, I parked my van and waited in the back of it. About 8:25 the police arrived and asked me what I'm doing in the credit union's parking lot because the credit union called them to check me out. The New Haven police were very polite and professional. It would seem obvious that a vehicle waiting for the bank to open at 8:30am would be there for banking purposes, you think?
I walked in with a smile on my face and asked them to open my account to get started. (Thirties, slightly chubby woman with reddish hair was my teller.) I was asked for my ID in a begrudging way, not friendly or "happy that you bank here" attitude, or I don't recognize you. Grabbed my ID like I was a thief here to rob the bank. Just a bad attitude and not done as a professional. I'm usually at the Warsaw branch and they have my ID on file. Shouldn't an ID be important factor to have on file if they have branches?
She was polite thru the process of printing my request.
Then I asked if they have a "public" bathroom, at which I heard another one of those begrudging grunts and she pointed and said, "over there"...by the way it says employees only on the door. Grateful to share the use of private bathrooms, but not appreciating another attitude grunt.
No they do not deserve even one star. I would never bank at Beacon Credit Union at the New Haven location. Just asking for an attitude change no matter how large or small my account is in their bank. Don't they teach manners in banking school in order to build their business? Take some lessions from Wal-Mart's "greeters" and some of the other franchises in town, they are happy we are there to spend our money in their store. They greet everyone with respect, show some New Haven. Lost customer...

They are very helpful, it's easy to use without a big hassle like big banks. The down side is the hours and not as many locations online experience could be a little better but I'd rather give a little for the better personal customer experience without hassles than use big banks with tons of fees, hassles, and poor customer experience. So for that reason I give them 5 stars. If you want a financial institution that is helpful and friendly go here.
