It has a unique combination of the costs of lack of scale (such as no international service and lack of robust ATM networks) and the most hideous big bank practices (such as hidden fees, and multiplying fees). I had one loan, and paying two days late more than double the payment. For a small, personal service bank People's State Bank is downtown. For a large impersonal bank, with slightly less hideous practices, Chase is also downtown.
