I want to start by sharing that I have had really great experiences at Wintrust and this location. Today, however, I had an interaction with a banker that made me feel uncomfortable and lacked the positive customer experience I have always encountered.
I went in for a quick cashier check and noticed there was only one teller who was working incredibly hard to manage the person at the desk and the line of three cars at the drive up. The teller politely let me know he’d be with me in a few minutes as he needed to check in on the drive up. I noticed one banker on a call and another at her desk. I also noticed another bank personnel in her office located directly behind the teller counter.
I walked over to the banker who appeared available and asked if I needed to speak with the teller about a cashiers check or if I could speak to her about it , to which she replied “Well, what’s the difference?!” I indicated that the teller was very busy with a line of cars at the drive thru and said if you’re busy that’s okay I just thought I’d ask if you might be able to help me, to which the banker replied, “Well, I am busy but it’s fine..”.
The interaction, tone and nonverbal communication made me uncomfortable and wasn’t aligned to the customer first mindset I know Wintrust prides itself on which made me a little disappointed.
I will continue to utilize Wintrust as my bank, but I may not frequent this location in the future.

Went to this location for a quick transaction. The bank itself was closed due to Veterans day. There is a drive thru atm.
