  I've been noticing a downward trend in customer service in these days in general, and unfortunately, Wintrust Bank is no exception. Yesterday, I went to get some currency exchanged for an overseas trip. I requested the teller who was helping me, Rubi C, to put in the order with specific denominations I wanted. For whatever reason, immediately without hesitation, she said that is not possible; I would just have to get the denominations that come with the order. I informed her that I had already asked another branch for information ahead of time, and that I can request specific denominations. It was only then, that she put in the request in the order. I then requested the order be picked up at another Wintrust branch, and she again, immediately without hesitation, said that it is not possible. I called Wintrust's operations team right then, and they confirmed it was possible, as long as it is a Wintrust branch. The operations team member asked to speak to Rubi, but Rubi refused to talk to her (her own team member). Wintrust has been great in the past, but this experience I had makes me question their competency as a bank. It's okay to not know the answer, but please do not tell your customers with confidence you know the answer/policy when you do not.

  I was looking to buy a house & I took all my information to this branch. They was supposed to send it via inter office to the loan officer & they lost all my important documents. I went back after a week because I didn't get a call/email of any updates. The teller or the loan officer was no longer working there anymore. I don't understand how a business could loose a customer's personal information. I wouldn't recommend nobody to do business with them. This is so unprofessional & unacceptable for any business. I don't know y they still in business.

  George at the Old Town location was pleasant, helpful and listened to my needs regarding a transaction that I had placed and wanted to reverse. He followed up as promised and resolved the issue. THIS is why I bank with Wintrust. A true Chicago community bank!
