  ***UPDATE*** I’ve been busy with a newborn at home, but Banker Maria Diaz was persistent in reaching out to make things right. She found a solution and provided excellent customer service. Wintrust is fortunate to have bankers like her who go above and beyond to keep customers happy. ******** I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Wintrust regarding my CD account. I received a letter notifying me that my CD was about to mature and advising me to call a number for more information. I called 3-4 times, left all my details, and never received a single call back. When I opened the account, I was told that if no action was taken, the CD would automatically renew at the current market rates. That turned out to be completely misleading — my CD renewed at a pathetic 0.3% interest rate! In today’s rate environment, that’s unacceptable and feels deliberately deceptive. It seems like they count on customers not being able to get through or not following up, so they can lock you into these absurdly low rates under hidden terms. That’s not just bad service — it’s predatory. Terrible communication, lack of transparency, and zero accountability. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, and I recommend others do the same. Beware of Wintrust – more like Win-no-trust.

  Don't make the same mistake we did! Wintrust Banks are terrible! When we married and got a joint account we wanted to go with a community bank to help support our local community. Wintrust bank has been nothing but a terrible headache ever since! Their atm machines are always broken. Some locations won't allow you to take out more than $20 because the machine only hold a small amout for the day. Also, more than once their junk machines have eaten my card and I have to jump through hoops to get it replaced. The last straw was when the machine door wouldn't open and it wouldn't give me my withdrawal. But the computer SAID it was withdrawn so they refused to help me when I went to a manager.
