Work on your customer SERVICE and stop wasting our time, mailbox space and ruining the environment!! Printing is hugely polluting, and that's before it ever gets there!! Your reviews SUCK. Go deal with THAT. Never give ANYONE money who does that!! They're not handing out money; don't be a fool. Asterisks * are ALWAYS a lie.
- HBHalle BettsMay 29, 20251.0My experience at this bank was unfortunately very unpleasant due to the behavior of a teller named Leo at the Lincoln Park location. I came in to cash a check issued by my institution and was told I needed two forms of ID, even though I presented my valid driver’s license. I’ve cashed checks at several banks—including Chase—and have never encountered this requirement. I politely responded, “Wow, I’ve never heard that before. I’ve been to Chase and other banks and only had to show my ID.” Leo’s response was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He repeatedly said, “Well, we aren’t Chase” and “Does this look like Chase?” in a condescending tone. Despite his attitude, I remained composed and provided a second form of ID as requested—my car insurance card. He then told me the check still could not be cashed because it wasn’t “passive” or something to that effect, without offering a clear explanation. Before leaving, I calmly expressed that I felt his behavior was unprofessional and that he could benefit from improving his customer service skills. Instead of listening, he continued to speak over me and dismiss my concerns. I’m fully aware this isn’t Chase—my comment was made out of genuine surprise regarding the verification process. Whether the bank has experienced issues with fraudulent checks or not, there is no excuse for the rude and dismissive treatment I received. Leo’s attitude was uncalled for and made the entire experience frustrating and uncomfortable. If he was having a bad day, it should not have been taken out on customers.
