Umpqua Bank helps people, businesses and communities find financial solutions that fit.
We do so by treating our customers like people, not numbers. We get to know them and find products and services that meet their needs and goals. And we give back to the communities we serve because it helps us all.
Umpqua offers the best of both worlds – the financial expertise and strength of a national bank with the customer service and care of a community bank.
They started off like great employees.
Once they got your account open, then your nothing and being passed around like a loaf of bread for everyone to cut on. First the sarcastic laughter and snickers.
My account was open for 1 day, she couldn’t even help me set up a password.
Told go home and try again in two hours later.
Came back in the morning and was handed to someone else who probably knew less.
In all with her “last word” crap I decided to close the account an go elsewhere. This annoyed her so much she handed me off to a “kid” who did close the account but neglected to sign the cashier check I received in the amount of One hundred thousand and change. He was also sarcastic to me. I did have to return for a signature where I endured some more sarcasm.
I was only too glad to go around the corner to a smaller bank that was more than willing to accept a hundred thousand dollar deposit.
UMPQUA needs to realize even in 2025 the customer is still your most necessary component of your bank. They need to realize that some of us expect to be treated as “customer's are king or queen” and deserve the most loyal service no matter what kind of day their having.
1 day in and 1 day out for my money.
They can take their job as unserious as they
want.
When everyone is happy there is no problem, but when a customer has an issue, it’s not time to laugh, giggle, get cocky or sarcastic.
Instead it’s time to get serious about your job and your customer and earn your salary.

My husband and I are new to the area. I am a nurse and love the vibe and community of a small town...especially after the last couple of years. Everyone has been so nice until this experience. I called and inquired if a notary was available. The lady on the phone, Sandra I think, was so sweet and told me she could do it. It was 1 form and it took less than 5 minutes. When we got there, I told the lady at the first desk on the right that we had called. She ask if we were members and I said we were not, she proceeded to say that she was a notary but that she wouldn't do it because we weren't members. I could understand this if they were busy, but the bank was empty. Even after I explained that we had talked to someone who had told us to come in...she still was very abrasive and snippy. We got our form notorized from the sweet lady behind the counter....on the way out I told the lady at the desk that we wouldn't do this again and that we didn't know we had to be members to get notary services. She rolled her eyes at me. So apparently doesn't get the small community help each other thing... long story but I will NEVER bank here!
