P1FCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. We have grown to now serve members in 19 counties in Idaho, 8 counties in Oregon and the entire state of Washington. We were organized by a group of individuals with the desire to make lending more readily available for employees of Potlatch Forests, Inc. Over 80 years later we are staying true to our organizational values while servicing members in a tri-state region.
I have been with this credit union since like 1990’s and never had a problem until the end of last year when my account was overdrawn . What happened is I made my car payment through Bill pay which I did every once in a while and assumed it went through because I put it in the system the day I got paid, . I had automatic deposit. Well My card wouldn’t go through on a transaction and I couldn’t figure out why so I called the bank after looking at my account and finding out I was overdrawn by 200+ I called the bank to ask why well they blamed it on this other place and so I called the other place and they didn’t know what I was talking about and so I called the bank back and they couldn’t figure it out and then they sent me to another person there and they didn’t know and they have that sent to another person and they didn’t know when I got sent to another person and by this time I called the other place and had them on the line as a third-party and needless to say it was finally figured out that Bill pay said there wasn’t enough money in my account I was short by a few dollars so they covered the payment but they didn’t tell me. I assumed my paycheck covered it and it was fine so Bill pay overdue my account by saying I owed them money. I said I did not approve any of that and it was not OK because I was not told by by anybody about this or I would’ve put money in the bank and make sure that the whole payment was covered well after that the bank told me to delete the bill pay and so I did. They took care of everything that December after talking to everybody it was all clear and then in May they overdrew my account again by charging me the same amount and again didn’t tell me and I said I’m not responsible for this because I thought it was taken care of again and they feel that I am because they bill paid covered it well I didn’t ask them to cover it and I understand where they’re coming from but I think that I should’ve been told so it’s not my fault. Well, I refuse to put money in the bank because I’m not paying that bill like I said I’ve been with this bank since the 90s and I’ve never had a problem, but I would never recommend it because they don’t consider anything other than the fact of what they want so they turned it into collections and I would never recommend this bank to anybody. Bad communication and take none of the responsibility in anyway . Mind you if I would have been told a I would’ve put the money in the bank right away and we wouldn’t have this problem in the first place, but that doesn’t change the fact that they screwed up and take nothing . If I owed them, they should’ve told me ASAP not overdraw my account be charged over and over and over and then blame it on the other company.

I have banked with MGCU for several years and have always been happy with everything. I have always been impressed at their customer service as well has their care and concern for our accounts. I prefer credit unions because they know me and my family and we aren't just a number to them. Even traveling out of state I am usually very careful about using my debit card, but have never had any problems. I do communicate with them if I am doing something out of my normal activity so they have a heads up. Plus, they will touch base if they ever have any questions about my activity. It is a personal touch that you can't get a huge banks.
I also have had several loans as well as my home mortgage with them and the loan department is so helpful with the paperwork, and understanding the process, with great rates as well!
You will not be disappointed in everything they have to offer.
