  By the way, when I went to first federal to apply, I initially went in to apply for a mortgage loan. I did not qualify because I had defaulted on my previous mortgage loan by six months. And my experience with the lender at that point in time was awesome. She shared jokes and I shared mines. We had good laughs and good vibes. I would definitely recommend her. Then I made my way to the tellers to open up a bank account. Because, you know, it’s local to where I live and I don’t have to drive 2 hours to a branch. My experience with the teller was amazing. She was interactive and engaged with me in a conversation. She even went above and beyond to get me additional information and provided steps to get paid for having monies in my account. Then I went to Carolyn who was my auto loan person. When I initially sat down with her she greeted me and went straight to business without making any small talk. She asked for the VIN number on my car and told me what it was worth and asked if I had the money tk put down. She made an assumption that I couldn’t afford to put any money down. She even expressed that she didn’t want to start the process if I didn’t have any money. While I get her intent, the impact that it had was much worse. I expressed tk her that I was feeling discriminated against and felt like I was being rejected before the process even started. And is illegal to discourage someone tk apply for a loan. While she did express she has only been in role for 6 months, I do want to point out “intent vs impact”. I will be submitting a complain to the consumer financial protection bureau I hopes that some training will be conducted. It is against the Equal Credit Opportunity Act to discourage or discriminate while providing a loan service. When I look at Carolyn j see a product of how First Federal wants to engage with their community.

  We went into Loralee with about 5000 questions. She not only answered every question but was able to guide us to a loan that we had not even thought of that best fit our situation. The process went very quickly and Loralee stayed in touch with us every step of the way. One part of the process that we were very pleased with was the ability to do 90% of the loan process from our home office. The only trips made to the bank were the initial visit to discuss options and then to sign the final documents. We highly recommend Loralee and the rest of the team at First Federal.

  I've been very impressed with First Fed since we opened an account with them last year. Loralee was awesome to work with in setting up our construction loan. She walked us through the process step by step and kept us on track the whole way. We appreciate everything she did for us and we will continue to be First Fed customers for all of our banking needs going forward.
