- KSKaylee SligarSep 15, 20251.0I was a client of Edward Jones under advisor Marcelle Winn and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience that ultimately led me to switch advisors. After moving to a new advisor, I learned that my Roth IRA had been set up incorrectly, and that none of my personal or marital information had been updated — including the fact that my husband and I were married. This is basic, critical information that any financial advisor should be reviewing and updating regularly. Even worse, no new investments had been made in either of our accounts for years. We were left in the same funds, with no diversification or adjustment for growth, which left us significantly underperforming the market. There was no strategy, no review, and no initiative taken to help us maximize our financial goals. I had also requested an account that would act as a savings account but still be invested and earning interest. Instead, it was set up as a secured deposit, earning minimal returns — no better than a regular bank savings account. This again reflected a lack of care and attention to my financial planning needs. On top of the poor account management, the branch office administrator, Mackenzi Church, was consistently rude and unprofessional when calling. Her tone and attitude made it uncomfortable to deal with the office, and I eventually had to request that Marcelle contact me directly instead of having Mackenzi be the point of contact. That kind of interaction is the last thing you want when you're trying to manage your finances and plan for the future. This experience left me feeling ignored and mismanaged. I would not recommend Marcelle Winn or her office to anyone seeking proactive, thoughtful, or even just basic competent financial advising. You deserve better oversight, better communication, and a team that’s actually invested in your growth.
