- CPCarly Ann Gomes PalmerMay 24, 20245.0The location is very convenient, and for a CU to be in a mall (Windward Mall), it is VERY easily accessible (as far as accessing it from the parking lot-even with the construction going on). IMO, the configuration of the parking lot/construction area now, it’s effortless to get a stall right up front and go into an air conditioned side corridor. And just like that you are in the Mall! It’s always bright, clean and the staff will always greet you with a smile, and “Hello.” The tellers are very nice and professional. Once you realize that you are in a CU, and not a commercial Bank, I think some people may adjust their expectations when it comes to processing times. Meaning the amount of time that they need to process any given transaction. It is a given, and this is no slight to Hickam FCU, or any other CU. But it is a given, for most part, that a CU takes a bit longer. The processes are a bit different from CU to CU. It is not like a commercial bank. And each CU has Their own version of doing things. It is interesting when you do business in a CU that is not your own. If it is the first time, it can be a little unnerving. Especially if there is a crowd. I have seen it with my own two eyes living on the Town side, some CU’s are still using Dinosaur tech, while others like Hickam are well into the future with great offering(s) for their online services. It is easy to book an appt; to speak with someone. They are compassionate there, you may not get the loan, but in Kāneʻohe, you will not be made to feel ashamed if you are denied a loan. I speak from personal experience. The fact that I have that experience and am still going to the plate with a STELLAR REVIEW should say more than I ever could. I wish they didn’t shorten their business hours, outside of that, I think Hickam FCU is a wonderful establishment to do your financial business with!!
