- DLDerek LDec 22, 20251.0Warning to anyone depositing large sums at Truist Bank they steal! I went to cash a Truist check at a Truist branch. I called a week before to make sure the funds wouldbe available. And the Bank teller convinced me to just open a Truist account bc of all the different benefits. So I agreed and deposited the $60,000 in cash into my Truist account going against my best judgment. Two days later, my account was locked and closed without notice. Truist has not provided a timeline for the return of my funds, only that it may take 15–90 days due to a “third-party service.” I am now without access to my 60K during the holidays, unable to pay debts and obligations or purchase gifts due to this banks negligence and basic theft of funds. No explanation. No prior warning. No urgency shown, just a banker telling me " oh well sorry there's nothing we can do about it." If you bank with Truist or plan to deposit significant cash, ask questions first and but still go run the other way. Bc this branches customer service here is nonexistent.
