- ESedy susantoSep 2, 20251.0I came in to deposit $3,800 in cash. The teller (white male, blonde hair, probably early 40s) asked me what I was doing with the money. I was shocked and i was like, what??? I asked if that question was really necessary, and he said it was required by the feds. First of all, it's none of your business what I'm doing with my money. Then he asked me what my job was. I just looked at him — completely speechless. These questions were totally irrelevant. As far as I know, banks are only required to report cash transactions over $10,000 to the IRS.
