Everyone is always welcomed and they treat their customer base with strong emphasis on professionalism but super friendly level which makes people feel comfortable and secure. I do not know the criteria used in the selection process of their employees but whatever it is keep it up because this bank is head and shoulders over their peers. It’s always a pleasurable experience every time I go there. Thank you SouthState for your outstanding service at your facility on route 312.

- SSSteve StrangJun 29, 20253.0I bank at South State Bank in Orlando. When I was in St. Augustine recently, I was glad to find there was an ATM at the SR 312 location because I needed some cash. The ATM didn't work. It was before 5 p.m., so I assumed I could go in the bank to get cash. Apparently, the lobby closed at 4. I tapped at the door, and a middle-aged woman finally answered, and I said the ATM machine didn't work. She acted as if I was interrupting her day and assured me it wasn't her responsibility to see it worked. So I left and saw the drive-through was still open, so I got the cash I needed from a nice clerk named Ashley, who had overheard the exchange and apologized for her rude coworker. Generally, I like SSB, and I have large deposits there. But because I was from out of town, that surly lady treated me like a nobody. She didn't care that I needed cash and could have apologized for the machine being broken (ATM machines are supposed to never be broken) and suggested I go through the drive-through. It's obvious that South State Bank needs training for this employee. And they need to give Ashley kudos for good customer service.
