  Absolute worse experience I ever had. Sat on hold multiple times from 2:30 until 5:00PM either getting hung up on or just left sitting there for 40 minutes until I was finally hung up on at 4:57 and the bank closed

  Update: we met with Tess today at the bank and she was great! Very helpful and sweet. All she did was put me on the account, tell the fraud department that were NOT defrauding anyone, and boom, we had access to our money. She did say that the freeze was put there for our own fraud protection, though whether she knew it or not, this was false because there had been two direct deposits and no freeze until we were in the bank IN PERSON. So the review below stands: Wells Fargo may FREEZE your account if they don't like your deposit!!! Branch manager Amy at Wells Fargo in Seminole on Park Blvd. did not like the direct deposit in my wife's account. Why? Because the direct deposits into the account had my name listed in the deposit notification. I authorized my employer to deposit a portion of my paycheck into my wife’s account, much like signing over a check, and two direct deposits went though. When my wife tried to make a withdrawal at the bank (in person, in the lobby, with proper ID, with me there also with proper ID), they froze her account. Not a hold on funds but FROZE her account. And didn’t even bother telling us they froze it. Manager Amy, we just want OUR money. Detail: Against our better judgement, we opened my wife a Wells Fargo account and then I had part of my direct deposit paycheck put into her new account WHICH I'M AUTHORIZED TO DO. It's my paycheck. I've done this at another bank for her account for years and never had an issue. The new Wells Fargo account was opened online but we ran into a problem logging into the account, so we went to the Seminole branch. We spoke with a teller who verified my wife’s identification, and she was going to make a withdrawal. When she saw the direct deposit into my wife's account had my name on it (again, authorized by ME, standing right there) she called over manager Amy. After explaining this to her, manager Amy said that the teller COULD process the withdrawal if she was comfortable with it. The teller was not. OUR MONEY. AN ACCOUNT WE OPENED. BOTH OF US THERE WITH PROPER ID! Manager Amy said she would “escalate” the issue. Apparently that meant she would FREEZE THE ACCOUNT. She never told us she was going to freeze it. We found out at another branch the next week that manager Amy had frozen the account and that this branch could not help us; we would have to talk with manager Amy. Even contacting Wells Fargo’s fraud department, they said we would have to go in and talk to manager Amy. Again, neither manager Amy nor anyone else told my wife WHY they froze the account or even that they did freeze the account or why they will not let us have our money! I can't imagine this is legal. Side note: We’ve never had any type of issue like this in over 4 decades of banking with Bank of America, Chase, Navy Federal, 5/3, Merrill Lynch and others. Not even close.
