  Update: I'm happy to report that the manager mentioned in this review is no longer employed here. It was an excellent decision by Wells Fargo execs who investigated her incompetency. . . Originial review: I saw an ad on the internet stating that Wells Fargo was offering a $300 bonus for opening a new checking account. The next day I wired $5,000 to my new Wells Fargo account. Then, I went to the branch to show ID and order checks. I met with a loan officer within (2) days, and I asked about the $300 bonus. He said, “You’re not entitled to the $300 because you don't have two direct debits set-up." I told him I read the fine print and I have 90 days to set-up two debits." He had no answer. Next, the branch manager appeared and directed the loan officer to close my account immediately and return my $5,000 (which is illegal). She just bullied her way into the conversation and would not listen to the details of the situation. Then, she withdrew my $5,000 without my permission (also illegal). There is seriously something wrong with this branch manager (as stated in other reviews). She is arrogant, rude, and highly unprofessional. She didn't even introduce herself, nor offer any reason for closing the account. When I mentioned filing a complaint with the FTC – she just smiled and giggled. This type of attitude accounts for the $3.3B fine imposed by the FTC, and the 6,000 unresolved complaints at the BBB nationwide. Bad branch - bad bank.
