  This is not a review of the banking service but rather a review of the financial advisor service and specifically Eduardo Suarez. I've been with Wells Fargo for 10+ years now. I'm going to close my bank account at Wells Fargo and move to BoA next month. Normally, one would expect financial advisor at a bank to have fiduciary duties when advertising products, but this is apparently always true. When my previous investment product ended during the COVID era, Eduardo Suarez convinced me that the best product was to invest into an annuity due to its stable rate of return at 2% annually. I never understood what an annuity was (I have no need of life insurance or fixed payment at retirement) and thought it was just another CD. Then a few months later the interest rate increased dramatically and I tried to switch then found out that I was locked into a multi-year contract that had a high penalty fee of up to 10% if left early. I waited patiently until this year to request termination of the account, then when I tried to do it, I was told that Eduardo is retiring soon and no other advisor understands these annuity products, so I need to contact the annuity company directly (even though it was sold by Wells Fargo). There's nothing I can do online directly through the Wells Fargo website either. I called the 1800 number from the annuity company and was sent a long and complicated form to fill out and mail back. Ultimately, I tried several different branches of Wells Fargo until I found one nice and patient employee at a different location, who helped walk me through how I should fill out each page of the exit form to terminate the product that I did not want to buy in the first place 4 years ago. Hopefully this works, but we'll see. I'm writing this to serve as a warning to those who bank here. Use it as a bank is fine, but do not trust its advisory or investment services. The "advisors" are only interested in earning commissions by selling products with high bonus rather than low-cost investment products that meet the customer's needs. I have learned substantial financial literacy through my mistake, so I hope others don't make the same one.

  I visited the branch to change my account type, but was treated with suspicion by the banker, Juan Gomez. Rather than asking clarifying questions to understand why an out-of-state client might be present for routine account maintenance, he took my driver’s license without explanation and left me waiting after simply saying, “I’ll be right back.” I felt mistreated and profiled based on my race, as an Asian customer. When I later returned with my husband and children to speak with the manager, it took some time before she came to greet us. Only after we voiced our concerns did the manager apologize for the experience. Mr. Gomez himself did not offer an appropriate apology or show concern for the discomfort he caused—his only comment was, “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.” However, there was no misunderstanding. I had passed the required PIN authentication, yet my out-of-state Real ID seemed to trigger undue scrutiny. I believe his actions were discriminatory, and I want to ensure no other clients—especially those from the Asian community—are subjected to similar treatment.

  Just got a call from this number to the bank. The representative was very Nasty and rude. Maybe some customer service classes would benefit your call center representatives
