  I opened this account last year because of an incentive and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been practical at all. Zelle has ridiculous limitations and frequent freezes, making it unusable as a primary Zelle account. Deposits are extremely slow, and to avoid fees they require maintaining a $25,000 balance. The branch only has one ATM—which is fine, since nobody is ever in there—but it’s excruciatingly slow to use. I hate to do this, but this account has turned into extra clutter rather than something useful. I’m calling to close it.

  Branch Manager Bill Reynolds personally promised a $50 Visa gift card per referral and encouraged customers to bring people in. After following through, we were told it was a “mistake” and the bank refused to honor it. If a bank won’t stand behind its own manager’s promises, it can’t be trusted. Very disappointing.

My friend did exactly that — then the bank turned around and said it was a “mistake” and refused to honor it. That’s not a mistake. That’s bait-and-switch and completely dishonest. If a bank won’t stand behind its own manager’s promises, it cannot be trusted. Do business elsewhere.

  Flagstar Bank exceeded my expectations. From the initial contact through completion, their team was professional and easy to work with. Communication was clear, questions were answered promptly, and the entire process moved smoothly. It’s refreshing to work with a bank that truly values its customers. Highly recommended.

  Very, very upset with this bank. I opened the account specifically because of the advertised bank bonus. I followed all the steps and jumped through every hoop they required, only for the bonus to never show up. Now they’re saying it was a “mistake” and blaming a third-party provider, which feels like nothing but excuses. After all that, they’re telling me I’m not getting the bonus at all. I can’t believe I went through all of this for nothing. This bank doesn’t offer anything you can’t get elsewhere, and clearly can’t be relied on to honor what they advertise. If you’re considering opening an account for a promotion, stay far away. Completely unreliable and disappointing.
