- FEfred engelOct 29, 20251.0opened a checking account in April 2025 based on a flyer that would give $250 plus a mug if you completed the requirement. The flyer indicated that a Direct Deposit from payroll would qualify. The fine print said a concurrent dd. This was misleading advertising since the flyer said a dd (which means singular, and the fine print said concurrent. I found out through research that other customers had the same problem. Of course my request was denied which in my opinion was false advertising. . received a response to call and the number given was incorrect. Just another example of the many complaints filed on Trustco Bank
- BWBrandon WhiteMay 16, 20231.0This is the worst bank ever! The stole 40k from my deceased father with no explanation. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how they are legally able to do this. Their head of legal Camilla is a Joke. She has no idea what she is doing and has to constantly seek outside legal counsel because she has no experience in fraud or investigations. The dean road branch manager Gil who I initially started working with will not return my calls or emails and has directed all questions, comments and concerns to be addressed to Camilla. Well guess what? Camilla has done the same but is now directing me back to Gil. All I’m getting is the run around and the bank gets to keep 40k that does not belong to them. Be aware of this scummy company! If anyone has gone through similar experiences please feel free to reach out.
- JKJohn KampFeb 6, 20211.0Worst customer service I have ever experienced. A bank error caused an overdraft, but nobody would even attempt to work with me on the fees generated. While I was trying to work with the branch an explain why the fees should not have been charged, the bank reported me to the credit bureau. Over $20 in incorrect fees. The overdraft amount was paid back almost immediately.
