This is a bank you want to avoid. Truly comical customer service! They make the cable company look efficient.....

I live on Longboat Key and have been banking with this bank for almost 20 years. They are like a small town bank that treat you like family even if you don’t live here. I have had accounts at other banks such as Bank of America which is the worst! Treat you like a number and extra fees for everything. I have banked out other SunTrust branches and the respect and courtesy are the same as Longboat. The one star review on here is obviously the one bad apple

Surprisingly obtuse and unhelpful. As a CPA, son of my aging father, with a Power-of-Attorney drafted by a local attorney, I found it incredibly difficult to get shared-access to my father's bank account and make transfers to a bank that will better serve his needs in his new home. Typical of their lack-of-service is when I tried to pay off two loans with interest of 5+%/annually from a large checking account (paying no interest). Bank manager and "Preferred" banking representative said I couldn't do this, even with my father on the phone. He had to arrange a ride (doesn't drive anymore) to go to bank to do this in person. I hope they enjoyed their extra $200 in interest captured. I would recommend anyone with significant funds (>$35k) and a need for long-distance access to one's money . . . to go elsewhere.
