Terrible staff and bank management. The manager looks like she’s not even paying attention. No service for premier customers with business banking accounts. Do NOT recommend this bank.

I am not a current Wells Fargo customer, but I used to be. One of my tenants paid me by check, as he does every month. Since it was Christmas time and I didn’t want to deposit the check into my own bank account and wait days for funds to clear, I decided to cash the check directly at Wells Fargo and receive cash immediately.
Big mistake!
First of all, the branch was severely understaffed. There was only one teller working, with a long line of customers. It took me about 25–30 minutes just to get to the window.
When I finally got there, the teller took my check and two forms of ID. After some time, she told me there was a “security message” on their system and asked me to sit and wait while they “verified something.” She kept my documents and told me they would call me.
I waited another 20-30 minutes.
Eventually, I was called back and told that everything was fine, no issues, and they would cash the check. I received the cash and my IDs back.
And that’s where the real problem started! - My driver’s license was physically broken in half!!!
Not bent. Not cracked. Snapped.
It was clearly damaged by being run through some kind of auto-feeder copier, with visible roller marks across the card that actually rubbed off part of the facial image. Anyone who understands how IDs are copied knows this does NOT happen if you place it flat on a scanner glass.
I immediately asked the teller what happened. Her response?
“Oh, I didn’t do anything. It was already like that when you gave it to me.”
That is simply impossible. No bank would cash a check for someone who walks in with a driver’s license already broken in half.
So not only did they damage my government-issued ID, but they also denied responsibility.
To make matters worse: My license is issued in New York, this happened in Florida, I was visiting for Christmas.
That means I was effectively left without a valid ID during the holidays, out of state. Replacing a NY driver’s license costs about $20–$30, not to mention that you need to spend entire day for that, inconvenience, and stress - all caused by sheer negligence.
To be clear:
The staff was not rude. They were polite and friendly.
But this level of carelessness and incompetence is unacceptable for a major national bank. If your internal process for check verification involves copying IDs, your employees should know how to do that without destroying them.
Wells Fargo wasted over an hour of my time, broke my ID, denied fault, and left me dealing with the consequences.
Completely unacceptable!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service from Alicia Montoya!
I recently opened a joint business account at this branch, and Alicia Montoya made the entire process seamless and stress-free. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and thorough in explaining all our options and walking us through every step.
Alicia's professionalism and genuine care for her customers really stood out. She took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we felt confident about our new account setup. It's rare to find this level of personalized attention at a bank these days.
The branch itself offers a great mix of self-service tools and hands-on support when you need it. The location on Sheridan Street is convenient with easy access.
Thanks to Alicia's excellent service, we'll definitely be banking here for the long haul. Highly recommend this branch and specifically asking for Alicia if you need business banking assistance!

The location is OK, considering all the other ones in downtown Hollywood are gone. The problem is, it smells very strongly of mold and mildew. It’s not just me, other customers have commented on it. I don’t know if they had a past or continuing leak or what’s going on, but I can’t believe all those people are working in it every day. Very unpleasant, just running out of local locations.
When someone comes into your establishment to cash a check that’s drawn from your bank and you ask them if they have an account and they say no, let them know from the start that there is a $10 fee for cashing the check. It’s good customer service and better for you and the customer to establish that at the beginning of the transaction. Not after we’ve gone through all the motions, exchanged all credentials and then find out there’s a fee. I was told it was free.
