- NSNelson SoriaJul 27, 20172.0The teller told me if I'm cashing a check for over $5,000 I have to let them know in advance, this is not my mom and pop, I'd assume that the bank would have more than $5,000 in cash on hand. I went to another branch and cashed it no questions asked, as I have done in the past way above the $10 K, no one ever saying that there is a limit.
