Over the past year Citibank has:
1. Arbitrarily frozen my account several times due to "pending KYC requests" (which I immediately completed), and then made me wait on hold for hours to get it resolved.
2. Arbitrarily frozen my account several times due to "possibly fraudulent transactions," and then made me wait on hold for hours to get it resolved.
3. Now, yesterday, this branch refused to wire out my own immediately available funds held in my checking account, despite fully validating my identity with my debit card and identity documents.
Also note: the tellers and managers of this branch location are some of the most unprofessional, incompetent bankers that I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The tellers are rude, yell loudly to each other across the branch, and walk away from clients mid-conversation, or address another client in the midst of conversation without regard for confidentiality.
There are other comments here referencing this branch as a "third world experience"—no, it is worse. Much worse. At least bankers in the third world are generally polite and professional.
Due to these repeated poor experiences, I decided to close my accounts and wire out all my funds. Despite starting on it first thing in the morning, I am already halfway through the day, and they still haven't even managed to do this. I am on hold with yet another customer service department as I write this.
Citibank is the most incompetent, complete joke of a bank that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. This branch in particular is staffed by the most unprofessional bankers I have ever met.
Do not make the mistake of doing business with Citibank. However bad you think it might be, it is worse, I promise you.

LACKS ABILITY TO MAKE MANAGERIAL DECISIONS
Another business run by people who seem to have zero common sense ,loyalty for long-time clients or believe we are living in a 3rd world country. SIMPLY CANNOT SEE OUTSIDE THE BOX.
Yessica Gonzalez, who presents herself as upper management, showed no ability to make a sound managerial decision and clearly lacks even basic customer service awareness. Instead of helping, she made it very clear that loyalty means nothing to this bank.
Yesterday, I spoke with her over the phone and made my intentions very clear.
She agreed and confirmed everything. But when I showed up at the bank today, she suddenly claimed amnesia she never said any of it. No accountability, no integrity, and no interest in honoring a conversation that happened less than 24 hours earlier.
To make matters worse, she refused to provide the name or contact information of the actual bank manager — a sign of either complete disorganization or intentional avoidance. When an employee won’t even identify who’s in charge, that tells you everything you need to know about how the place is run.
It’s no surprise this bank is already declining in the Las Olas community. When leadership can’t be bothered to use logic, courtesy, or transparency, the downfall is predictable.
Sad to say, but common sense just isn’t common anymore. I highly suggest thinking twice before trusting this bank with anything.

For all the hard working people who work hard and deserve to be able to walk into a bank and conduct business, and not be Judged & Discrimunated against by a branch manager. I would have given 0 stars. As an individual & a small business owner who owns a local dealership and a local automotive repair shop In the nearby fort lauderdale area, I find it especially appalling and disgusting that I would not receive the same kind of service as another client who enters the branch. I have filled a formal complaint against the branch manager Brian Y. with citi bank and I am currently awaiting a call back from the regional / district / area manager who is a over the head of local branch manager Brian Y. I walked in for a simple service an was basically scooted out the door and told to call the 888 # with no type of assistance given to me, and by all people the so called leader of the branch. My business requires that i service vehicles it often times means that My shirts and hands are dirty and not in a suit and tie attire, upon walking into the branch I was not greeted by the branch manager who sat in the head of the lobby, nor did he look up and even acknowledge my presence so I sat myself in the lobby and waited. Even upon getting up from his position at the head of the lobby and proceding to walk into the back room I was still not even looked at or acknowledged by Brian Y. until I stood to ask him for assistance. He quickly told me to go to the teller line which I did and then I was told by a teller that I still could not receive the service I needed I was passed back to Brian who now was sitting back at his position in the front of the branch I explained to him what it is I needed a simple tempory debit card I provided my up to date passport and a business credit card to prove Identification and waited. He simply told me he can't issue a card and proceeded to give no real apparent reason other than I have to call customer service and handle my situation with them there's nothing he could do. I expect better service especially from branch manager , I already spent my lunch driving to the bank then sitting waiting at the bank I found it very unacceptable for the BCM to turn away clients without seeking some sort of closure or resolution to the problem . As I attempted to dive deeper into why as a Citibank client an account holder with all the valid identification required I needed to get a debit card he could not issue me one he went on to explain to me that i have to go through telephone banking to get a debit card that inside the branch he's unable to issue one for my account. Now during this time period of me trying to get my problem resolved numerous other clients began to walk in the banking center and in the middle of speaking to me and talking to me tge BCM stops what he's doing with me as if I have no importance or my relationship with him in his bank is not good enough and proceeds to handle the questions & matters of someone else. I found that very unacceptable how rude of you in my face begin to talk to another client while I stand there and wait for resolution, BCM made it clear that he had no desire to assist me . ( I use term discrimination because of a comment Bryan the branch manager made to me in regards to the fact he said that Citibank only opens branches in locations where a caliber of clients reside)I received from & called customer service and I proceeded to find out why I could not receive a temporary debit card from the branch and they told me that there was absolutely no reason I couldn't have gotten one. The rep apologized a number of times and said that it matters not where my account was opened or how that I can get my services done at any citi branch. My complaint is against the discrimination the bank manager took in decided who to help and how. If u are a hard working person who gets dirt under their fingernails to support ur family this is not the bank or branch for u. This branch is also terribly rated on yelp and other forms across the internet now I understand why.
