Truist Bank is a scam. My identity was stolen, I provided all the correct documents, cancelled the account that was open. Sent paperwork saying the account was closed 7/9/2025 and then receive a letter stating that the $2,900 transfer to an Amex account was successful. How is that even possible? The account was not reopened and I have been denied by the fraud department 3 times now. I have missed 4 days of work going to the bank trying to resolve the issue. Each time I left the bank I was assured that everything was fixed and not to worry about it. I keep getting phone calls to pay money I never took out or received.
When trying to call the fraud department number they make you wait hours on hold to talk with someone that speaks little English and when you want a manager they have you wait another hour on hold and then maybe you might get a manager in the phone before that hang up on you saying they are closed.
DO NOT BANK HERE OR DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Read their reviews if you don’t believe me.
I have to hire a lawyer to go after them because they won’t fix their own issues even after I proved all the proper documents.
They can’t even tell me what city and state this account was opened in.
AGAIN, DO NOT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE.

Stopped in today - keep in mind this NOT a usual location for me - however I had some end of month deposits to complete for my office. The woman who called me up - Annette - was guarded and rude from the start. Very first deposit ticket she did it wrong and then proceeded to scold ME over it. She, instead of reading the deposit slip, decided I guess to just go by the amount she had in hand failing to realize there was $2 and some change to be retuned. She huffed and puffed that I should be warning her about the change due. She had to correct it and instead of setting the change down - placing it in an envelope she threw the change under her window without a word. Then she proceeded to complain to her coworker over the number of deposits I had. I could understand if it was closing time, but it was 30 minutes after they OPENED and nobody else was in line. Not even at the drive thru. Her coworker ended up helping her & although more interactive than Annette, still mildly rude. Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name - Annette needs to find a new job if doing the main function of her current one is such a put out. At the end of the day SHE is responsible for the deposits she puts in so she shouldn’t be rude and condescending towards long time clients simply doing what they do every other month without issue !

I had a great experience there today. I had a rather large wire transfer. Chris and a new employee he was training could not be anymore accommodating. He not only answered my questions, but also asked if I verified that all of the transfer data was correct. He was most kind and No one mentioned anything about requiring an appointment. I was in an out in less than 30 minutes. Last month I ordered new checks since my address had changed and again found everyone to be very pleasant and helpful. I would not consider changing banks.
