An employee named Melissa had amazing patience while explaining how to open an account, how to operate ATM, online banking, etc. She explained everything very clearly, step by step, and made the process easy to understand.
Thank you Melissa for your time and explanation.

I seldom post negative reviews since I respect every hardworking business, but I feel compelled to share the extremely unprofessional experience I had with TD Bank.
I live just 2 minutes away from this branch and have had an account for about one year. I had a few activities with my account, so I felt OK in the first place--especially, I like the young man working there, he seems very knowledgeable and helps other staff frequently (sorry I forgot his name).
Recently, my mom opened an account there (with all the required legal documents). Everything seemed fine initially, except that due to a printer malfunction, they couldn’t issue her a physical debit card on the spot. We were told it would arrive in about a week. It did. However, when my mom tried to activate it as directed in the accompanying mail, none of the methods worked.
Only then did we discover that her newly opened account had already been closed. No one informed us—no emails, no phone calls, no letters. When we contacted customer service, they referred us back to the branch. Since my mom was abroad by then, I went in on her behalf today. What shocked me was that the staff refused to explain anything due to "privacy reasons." While I understand and respect privacy concerns, the total lack of communication or explanation about the account closure was unacceptable. Even worse, they hadn’t sent out any mail with the final balance check or closure notice to my mom. It seems that they are keeping the money and waiting for the customer to come up front to ask for it back!
When I expressed my frustration, a staff member asked me to wait while she consulted with a manager via phone call. After waiting another 30 minutes, I was told to go home and wait for a call since the "manager" was very busy with the meetings. That call never came. I returned to the branch at 4pm in the afternoon, only to be told the manager was too busy to respond. I was even told to wait until September to speak to the store manager—this was early August.
Finally, when I asked them to send my mom an official mail with the balance check and closure reason, they told me it would take another week to process because I had just missed their daily mailing cutoff time by a few hours.
Thanks for your patience with my long story. Here are the takeaway messages:
(1) Incompetence. The bank seems unable to provide basic customer support or follow-through.
(2) Lack of training. Staff constantly rely on each other to figure out next steps, showing poor training or internal communication.
(3) Customer indifference: They show no empathy, no urgency, and no responsibility for customers.
In the end, I closed my own TD account as a result. If this is how they treat customers, I can't trust them with my money.
(I will keep updating my story once we receive the formal mails. Hopefully, they will not mess it up).

I am shocked by the sheer incompetence here... I am a Canadian living and working in Canada that also does some business in the States. Recently I was selling my property in Florida so I needed to open a business bank account to receive the funds. I tried to open the account online and on the phone but ultimately was told I'd have to come into a branch to open it; that it couldn't be done in any other way. I was told to just go in any branch in the U.S. and that it would be done no problem. So I travelled all the way from Canada specifically to open this business account, in person. When I came here to this branch, I was informed that because the business was in Florida, that they would have to get my local Florida branch involved and that it could take 3 business days. On their advice, I called my Florida branch to tried to speed this up, but ultimately it made absolutely no difference and ended up taking exactly 3 days
Once the address had been verified by the local Florida branch, Emma at the Delaware branch started filling out the paperwork to open the account, I provided all of the documents that I was asked, including an Operating agreement for the business, which is not required for businesses in Florida but without which, I was told, they would not be able to open the account for me.
After the account had been "opened", I was told that it could take a couple days for the review process to finalize. I called TD Bank a couple times during the week to check on status. I was told there was a note that I had provided a US ID and that I needed to provide a foreign ID (which is impossible cause I don't have a US ID and the 2 IDs I provided were definitely Canadian). I went back to the branch to see Emma to let her know about this. She went to talk to her manager and came back and said that I just had to wait for the review process to be done and that if there were any issues, that she would be contacted directly and she would resolve it then, but that for now, there was nothing she could do.
A couple days later, I called TD Bank again to check on status with this bank account, and was told again about this note regarding the ID. I called Emma at the branch and she told me the reason for all this delay was my fault, because I was calling TD Bank about this and now my account had been flagged as potential fraud. And again she refused to do anything about this and told me to wait and that it should resolve next week.
During this whole time, about 9 days in total, I am staying in hotels and eating in restaurants in Delaware and I'm delaying going home as planned because I really need this account to be opened. This cost me a lot of money and time.
In the end I realized I needed a backup plan just in case TD didn't come through, so on my last day there, I walked into the branch of a competing bank. They opened and activated my business account within 1 hour. I had online access and even checks for it the same day.
A couple weeks after I got back home in Canada, I tried to find my account in my online profile but it wasn't there. I called TD Bank to see if I could have the new account linked but was informed that the account had been closed due to the issue with the ID not being resolved and unfortunately, I would have to start the entire process all over again.
I am really disgusted with the sheer incompetence I experienced here, just floored...
