TIAA joined the financial criminals around the time of the mortgage crisis. Kevin Moultrie talked me into combining plans from separate employers, one with borrowing capabilities, into a single streamlined report that he swore would only give me grand totals and would not affect the ability to borrow. Instead, he rolled my account to an IRA without my permission. TIAA claimed to have "no record of the transaction" or who performed the change, but subsequent news stories hit that they were receiving bonuses for client IRA conversions and some shady things were going on as a result. I was able to prove the difference in my accounts before and after this criminal sabotaged my safety net for his bonus, and I do not believe that the company had the nerve to admit to having the recorded change in their system, but no record of my signed agreement to this change (there was none). This was a pure and simple cover-up. Kevin Moultrie was promoted. When they later attempted to reconvert the account (due to my regular calls to them and uneturned calls to Moultrie), they claimed to be unable due to both previous employers having fired them already for poor performance. They claimed that at least one employer had to still be an active client. I became a victim of the mortgage crisis due to choosing a traditional non-arm loan for a new build and was also TIAA's victim due to this scoundrel visiting my agency to do bogus courtesy reviews of our plans. My attempts at careful financing and record tracking were in vain because I trusted this greedy TIAA rep. I do not know how these folks sleep at night. Shame on TIAA!
