  I just closed my checking account with Industrial Bank, ONLY because I don't live in either the D.C. or Newark areas. In the years that I banked with Industrial, I had no issues. This is an excellent Black-owned bank, I recommend this institution, and wished more of us in the diaspora banked Black!

  Industrial Bank is our preferred choice for our business banking needs. My initial impressions were lasting, as the team at the Georgia Avenue location was welcoming and family-oriented, ensuring that our banking requirements were met in a seamless and memorable way. What truly solidified our appreciation for this institution over the years has been their personability. The leadership team and staff consistently provide us with exceptional assistance that contributes to our success. This is the kind of outstanding customer service that one can only hope for.

  Gross incompetence seems to be the theme at Industrial Bank. I've tried so hard to support this bank because it's so important to support our community-based Black-owned banks. However, the gross incompetence which resides at every level of this organization is dumbfounding and beyond frustrating. No one seems to know what they're doing and every issue seems to take multiple phone calls to resolve. I have placed complaints with the Executive office and nothing has improved. Today, I had a young lady who clearly had no clue about Industrial's IT and online banking who was arguing with me that I was doing something wrong which was preventing me from exporting my transactions so that I could import them into QuickBooks. I could have explained it to her 100 ways and she was determined to tell me that I was doing something wrong. I tried calling back customer service to see if someone else could help me and he was just as useless. The young lady called me back, said that she had spoken with her supervisor, who confirmed (in her mind) that she was right and I was wrong. She walked me through the export process again, I received the same error message, and she insisted that I was wrong again. I asked her if the Industrial website had any compatibility issues with Google Chrome and she insisted that she had just read something stating that Chrome was the best web browser to use for accessing Industrial's website. While she put me on hold again, I logged into Explorer to test her theory that it wouldn't work and was FINALLY able to access all of my transactions and download them. She came back on the line, I told her that I figured it out on my own using Explorer and, not even skipping a beat, she said, "That's great!"...as if she had done something for me. No apologies. No acknowledgment of her error. Nothing. This is only the most recent of many outrageous encounters with Industrial Bank. I cannot recommend them to a soul...not even my worst enemy.
