- JDJamie DumaineOct 12, 20241.0I am not currently a customer with Webster Bank but was considering opening an account. My current bank doesn’t have a local branch. I had to cash a Webster Bank check so went in to see if it was possible without opening an account. The woman said the check was too large so I asked if I could open an account. She said they didn’t like opening accounts for one time checks. I told her I didn’t have a local bank and that wouldn’t be the case and she continued to push back. I told her it wasn’t her place to make an assumption. I have been legitimately looking for a local bank. Eventually, her tune changed and she said she would open an account. At that point, with that lack of customer service and downright rude behavior, there was no way I would ever consider using them.
