I just got discriminated in key Bank on summer street in Stamford Ct. I when there to open a checking account and they basically told they can’t open an account at there branch because some how they predicted that I’m not going to keep to account active.

Avoid this branch at all costs. I have repeatedly been given incorrect information from employees of this branch that has caused numerous delays and problems for me.
I opened an account and went into the branch to confirm they had all the appropriate information regarding my account because I needed to use the account in the near future. The manager said all information was correct and then immediately went into a sales pitch of more products I should try with KeyBank, I politely declined and told him I would rather see how this account worked before considering anything else, and I am glad I did. I then went to make a deposit and the teller said they could not accept the deposit because there was a hold on the account. I found that surprising because I just finished with the manager saying everything was correct. The manager told me he would call to find out the issue and then call me back to confirm it is fixed. I never heard back from that manager and no guidance was given.
I then had to call customer service to understand the issue which was for verification of an address, I went back into the bank with documentation and the account was verified. Then a week passed and I still had no debit card, I called customer service and was told it was never issued and they would issue it. The customer service representative also said that the branch should have offered to give me an ATM card in the interim that could be used for PIN purchases, which the branch did not even mention. I went back into the branch to request a card and finally make a deposit where I wrote a check to myself from another account. The teller (same one that did not accept the deposit before) told me that it was just an ATM card and could not be used for purchases. I found that clerk to once again be incorrect, I asked for the card anyways and that worked for the interim.
I called customer service a few days later because no debit card had arrived, they said that once again, no one from KeyBank had properly put the request in, so the person on the phone put it in again.
A week passed and my check still had not cleared despite the funds being taken from my other account the very day I handed KeyBank the check. I called customer service to ask about the delay, they said there was a verification hold on the check and it would be held for 15 days because it was a "large amount". The customer service representative told me that the clerk who took the deposit was supposed to inform me of the process. Of course, the clerk said nothing.
Needless to say I have been nothing but disappointed with the bank's lack of customer service, knowledge and follow up from the employees. Under no circumstance would I recommend this bank or this specific branch. You are much better suited to go to one of the nearby competing banks with properly trained employees and better service.
