Since our beginning in 1935, Webster Bank, a community-minded and values-guided bank, has maintained a commitment to starting every relationship by listening to what matters most to our customers and personalizing solutions that are responsive and tailored to their needs.
There should be an option for negative stars. On October 3, I deposited a check into my account. On October 12 after 4 pm I received a notice stating I was overdrawn, and Webster was charging a $37 fee. Frantically, I located my receipt, and noticed that the account number the teller had deposited the check into was not mine. Instead, it was the person who had written the check! But it gets better. I went in the next day and they immediately refunded the $37, and told me once they figured it all out they would give me a call. THEY NEVER CALLED ME. Instead , I kept calling them. I had to transfer funds from another account to cover this account, I was told it would be expedited. Really, shouldn't it have already been expedited? As of this writing they still have not fixed their error. When I spoke to the bank manager today, she said it be there tomorrow morning. She then told me, "Unfortunately we are all human and make mistakes." Yes, that is true, but it is how we remedy those mistakes that reveals our true make-up. Webster bank has abysmal service recovery and spoke to me in a patronizing tone. Over $ 1,000.00 has been missing from my account since October 3! Be sure to double-check all before you walk out of that bank! I will be moving my funds.

I used the ATM here while visiting and the $20 bill came out ripped in half. I had to take another $20 out and ended up paying another $3.50 transaction fee. I called Webster to try and get refunded but they told me they couldn’t do anything and to call my personal bank…called my personal bank and they told me it was Websters responsibility. After 30 minutes on hold between both banks, what a waste of time. I’ll never get cash out here again.
