  I am seriously considering closing my account with Webster Bank after years of relying on this branch as my sole access to in-person banking. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me feeling humiliated and disrespected by some of the most judgmental and unprofessional staff I’ve ever encountered in any customer service setting. During a recent visit, I requested to withdraw cash inside the branch rather than using the drive-up ATM. Instead of being helped with basic courtesy, I was subjected to a humiliating interrogation. I was asked to answer a vague security question without any guidance, then told to list recent transactions—down to dollar amounts and vendors—and finally, to confirm my address down to the full ZIP code. While I understand the need for security protocols, the way I was treated went far beyond what’s reasonable. The tone and manner of the interaction left me feeling targeted and discriminated against. I can’t help but believe this treatment was based on my appearance and the way I speak. I have a condition that affects my speech pattern and voice, which can sound unusual or "odd" to others. I’m also aware that my current appearance differs from my ID photo due to my chronic balding condition and hair loss, but that shouldn’t call my identity into question. This entire experience has made me feel ashamed and deeply uncomfortable. I’m now forced to take a bus to another branch just to feel safe withdrawing a few hundred dollars—something that should be routine. I’m embarrassed to even step foot in that branch again, and I’m not sure how else to move forward. This is not the kind of service any customer should receive.

  Wonderful staff , always welcoming , ready to help with all our banking needs. Great customer service for checking ,savings ,and loans - we have been a customer for over 10 years and have never had a problem that they couldn’t handle over the phone or on site - my choice . Hope to be with them another 10 years ! GO WEBSTER !!!!
