⭐☆☆☆☆ Very Disappointing Experience After 10 Years as a Member
I was a loyal member of Credit Union of Colorado for over 10 years and never had issues until the COVID period, when I unexpectedly lost my job. During that difficult time, my account went negative for a few months, but I paid everything in full once I got back on my feet.
Fast-forward almost three years later — I expected my situation to be fully cleared in their system, but unfortunately that has not been the case. When I contacted the credit union for help, I was met with dismissive service and a lack of willingness to resolve the matter. Instead of support or understanding, I was repeatedly told it was “my problem” and that I would continue to deal with the consequences until their system eventually updates on its own.
I simply requested written confirmation that my balance was paid in full for my records, and instead I experienced unprofessional communication, including being hung up on multiple times while trying to explain my situation.
After a decade of membership, I expected fairness, professionalism, and respect especially after overcoming a difficult financial time and making things right. Sadly, that was not my experience.
I hope the credit union improves its customer service and offers more compassion and support to long-term members facing temporary hardships in the future.

The way that some of the employees treat you is absolutely disrespectful! They have nasty attitudes and speak to you poorly!

I’m writing to share my disappointment regarding a recent experience finalizing a car loan, which took significantly longer than promised and was poorly communicated throughout.
I initially visited the Fort Collins branch with the vehicle title in hand, expecting—as I was told—that the process would take 4–5 hours. I was informed that I would be contacted to sign the loan closure paperwork at the Greeley branch (where I live). After waiting several hours with no follow-up, I called and was told by Meghan that what I had been told was incorrect and the process would actually take several days.
We returned to the branch on Saturday only to learn that Meghan had put the process on hold, causing even more delays. Ultimately, it took 5 days for the seller to be paid—far beyond what was initially communicated.
To make matters worse, I later received a temporary letter via email with no signature, and when I visited the branch for clarification, the staff had no knowledge of it or why I received it with no signature or notary.
While I appreciate the competitive rates your bank offers, the customer service I experienced during this process was seriously lacking. Better communication, internal coordination, and follow-through from staff would have made a huge difference. I hope steps are taken to improve this for future customers.
