- EEE “Eddie”Sep 30, 20251.0Went in to this Wells Fargo bank yesterday Sep 29 with some POD HH savings bonds and asked if I could cash them. I was told yes but I needed a certificate of death first. Today Sep 30 I drove 6 hours through the hellish commuter traffic on the 210 and the 215 just to be told that HH bonds can not be cashed in California, they must be sent to Treasury Dept and you dont need a certificate of death for this. What a waste of time and money. Of course, a rapacious bank without a soul like Wells Fargo offered no apology for giving me bad information, blowing a tank of gas and wasting 6 hours of my time. If I didnt absolutely have to have this account I would have nothing to do with Wells Fargo
