I opened my first checking and credit line with them and was asked to make a $300 deposit for the credit line I'd get it back if I left Wells Fargo. Flashback years later and I discovered I was never supposed to leave a deposit for that type of card in the first place. This was my first bank, I was inexperienced and whoever works there took advantage of that. Since I had no 'proof' and the person obviously did not write down that they took a $300 deposit for card that doesn't require it, I was not reimbursed. And then imagine my mother's concern when she heard because guess what? She ALSO had been asked to make a $300 deposit and will you look at that? No 'proof'. No written record of any deposit.
