- RBRay BoroumandJun 23, 20251.0HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH CITIBANK AND BRANCH; THEY DECIDED TO CLOSE MY CHECKING ACCOUNT THAT I HAVE HAD FOR 15 YEARS WITH A BALANCE OF THOUANDS IN IT. ALL I GOT IS A LETTER WITH NO EXPLANATION AND BETTER YET, NO ONE I CAN TALK TO EITHER ON THE PHONE OR AT THE BRANCH. I WALKED INTO THE BRANCH, THE TELLER, TATIANA IS THE MOST IMCOMPETENT EMPLOYEE AT THE BRANCH. I ASKED FOR THE THE MANAGER AND SHE SAID SHE WAS AWAY. I ASKED, IF MY OTHER ACOUNTS, SUCH AS MY SAVINGS AND CD ACOUNTS WILL BE CLOSED AS WELL. SHE INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE. A FEW DAYS GO BY AND I CHECK MY SAVINGS ACCOUT. CITIBANK TOOK THE REMAINGING BALANCE . I WALK IN THE BRANCH ONCE AGAIN, THIS TIME TO TALK WITH THE MANAGER. THIS MANAGER WAS PRESENT THE FIRST TIME I WAS THERE AND THE TELLER TATIANA STRAIGHT LIED TO MY FACE! HORRIBLE SERVICE. DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING OR SAYING. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BANK. SINCE MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT HAS CLOSED, THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WILL RECEIVE A CHECK IN THE MAIL WITH NO UPDATE AS TO WHEN I CAN RECEIVE IT. I THEN CLOSED MY CD ACCOUNT AND HAD TO PAY FOR A PENALTY FOR EARLY WITHDRAWAL. THEY DIDN'T WAIVE THE PENALTY! IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD WORKING MONEY, DO NOT BANK WITH CITIBANK. THEY WILL CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS FOR NO REASON AND WITH NO EXPLANATION FROM A HUMAN BEING! CHOOSE ANOTHER BANK. WENT TO WELLS FARGO AND THEY WELCOMED ME AND MY MONEY!

My wife and I opened a CD account there and my wife asked about taking our money out early, because of us searching for a house to buy. Marina Khachatourian the branch manager, told us "there won't be a penalty". We found a house to buy 3 months before the CD matured and in fact we lost almost $300 of our interest, the whole reason we opened an account. So BEWARE!
