Total bait & switch when it comes to business banking. I was told there would be no service charges, and then three months later, I am getting charged $300+ per month. Definitely recommend going to Poppy Bank!

I went in to this WAFD to cash a business check. Im from Washington and been banking with WAFD for 5 years. I had to come to California asap because my Grandma (mother figure) passed away. The check I cashed is from a General Contractor, whose checks I've cash a handful of times already. They tried to tell me my funds were unavailable until the 11th (5 days). Because I didnt have enough money in my account to cover the check if it was bad (again I partner with this General Contractor all the time). I asked how much money do I need in my account and Ill cover it and the manager very rudely said "Or you can use the funds you have to live off of until the check clears" Head bob and attitude in voice included. I asked would mobile deposit make the funds deposit quicker. She said "No, No, you'll have to wait reguardless." Again with attitude. I got my check back called up my home bank and they said they didnt see a problem. I mobile deposited it. Got my funds within a day. So she lied.
Im usually a passive aggressive person. The wait wasnt the problem, that ladys attitude is. It really has to get under my skin to write a bad review. If I would of got treated like that at my home bank I would of closed my account. But my home bank is awesome. This place just sucks.

I am unable to find a link to start a new review. I saw in the news that LBS has been sold to a larger bank corporation, so hopefully their service problems will improve. When I reread my review of LBS, I thought the management had told me that their phone system wasn't working for a year and not just for a few months. I have wondered if LBS had contracted with T Mobile since they are much less expensive and also Spanish bilingual when their phone system wasn't working at all for so long a year ago. From my own experience during that period when the bank officer would answer the phone and the calls were immediately dropped, we had T Mobile service even though the only cell tower near us was built by Verizon which charges 3 times as much per month and ATT which charges 2 times as much went on the tower 2nd and T Mobile 3rd, having least priority. I talked to the T Mobile techs, and their tests showed poor connections on that tower. We finally switched to Verizon and they sold us higher quality new cell phones that are Samsungs also - we wish we would have just paid more and gotten iphones like the rest of our family has, but we use computers and email for our main form of communication.T Mobile had sold us defective new supposedly 5G phones made by TCL in China to replace our Samsung Galaxy phones that were made before Google was built in to the phones - their cheapest since we don't use online at all on our phones.
My husband and I are seniors in Oakmont and my husband has been mostly homebound for the past 4 years so we depend on phone contact. We had thought about moving our checking and savings accounts starting many years ago when LBS moved from their more convenient location on 4th St to the other end of downtown. At the old location had very nice account managers who sat in the front but the 2 tellers were often unpleasant. Originally started at LBS because had highest interest rates on their savings accounts of any bank. We tried US Bank in E Santa Rosa for a year and it had the worst service by the most incompetent young foreign tellers who were always busy with someone else or they only had one in the bank working with long lines, and both the tellers and the account managers were extremely slow and not very knowledgeable, except for the only woman in the bank who was the branch manager who was very pleasant and helpful, unlike all young men with heavy foreign accents who held every other position. They had the worst phone messaging system - put us on hold for up to an hour and the teller answered the phone with such a strong foreign accent, could hardly understand what he was saying.
LBS seemed much superior at that time. A year or so ago thought they had improved with a very nice and helpful woman branch manager and assistant manager who called us on the phone and even sent us their business cards in the mail, but reaching anyone in the bank changed suddenly a few months ago. I spoke to the branch manager recently and she said that they had a serious problem with their phone messaging system which took a few months to correct. Also she was unaware that none of my emails would go thru except to the general email address on their online website and no one responded to them - she said that she would check into the problem. I found that I could go online first and call the phone number linked to our online account, and I was able to get someone at the branch who could help us right away.

How do I deposit a check after hours?
There are two easy ways to deposit a check on evenings and weekends. Every WaFd Bank branch has a smart ATM that allows you to deposit checks (and cash) without using an envelope. And you’ll see images of your deposit check right on your receipt.
You can also deposit a check using your smartphone. With Mobile Photo Deposit, use the WaFd Bank mobile banking app to snap a photo of the front and back of your check. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
Reminder: A hold applies to items deposited via the ATM or mobile photo deposit until we can verify the validity of the items deposited. If you’d like to request that the hold be removed earlier than normal, please call our Client Care Center at 1-800-324-9375.
How do I access my account online?
Access your WaFd Bank checking, savings, money market and CDs – as well as your loans with us – via online and mobile banking. Sign up is easy, just visit our Online Banking and Mobile enrollment page.
You’ll need at least one account number along with your Social Security Number to get started. Once you’re enrolled, you can also download our mobile app and link your accounts to your smartphone. Start with a visit to the Apple App or Google Play store and search for “WaFd Bank”.
What to do if I’ve lost my debit card?

Did Washington Federal change its name?
Washington Federal did modify the name, to WaFd Bank. We are still the same bank you trust. We launched the simplified name because the previous title did not emphasize that we are a bank. Our solution? Put the word “bank” in our name - WaFd Bank.

Treasury Prime clients can order checks from the Dashboard tab, select Check Orders available on the Navigation Center widget.

How do I request a copy of my bank tax statement?

WaFd Bank has rolled out a new voice activated banking service that replaces our former telephone banking.
What is voice activated banking?
Voice activated banking is a service that uses your unique voice to verify who you are. After you’ve authenticated your identity securely using your voice, our automated service lets you manage your accounts using voice commands such as "What’s my balance?" or "Transfer funds".
Signing up is easy:
If you haven’t already, you must sign up for consumer online or mobile banking.
Next, please call 800-324-9375 so that we can set up your voice activated banking profile --- you’ll then be guided to record your voice, so that our service can authenticate you going forward.
Anytime you call in, the service will ask you to authenticate using your voice. Once authenticated the service says, "Hi, how can I help you today?" and the offers suggestions including provide balance, transfer, or talk to an agent.
