- DLDao LamSep 23, 20251.0They’re all smiles when you want to open a checking account, but I came back for a wire transfer, and the treatment changed completely. No one bothered to help. We were put on the waitlist and waited for almost an hour. At one point, there was no one else waiting, yet we were told we still had to wait in case the person with an appointment showed up. Fine, we waited patiently. What pushed me over the edge was when someone walked in after us, also without an appointment, and was helped immediately. Even that customer looked surprised. The banker tried to justify it by saying he was “just helping her make an appointment.” That’s no excuse. She arrived an hour after us. Even if she needed an appointment, she should have waited while we finished a wire transfer, which takes no more than 15 minutes. It felt like he prioritized her because she was there for something related to a checking account, while my request for a wire transfer wasn’t a priority. And it wasn’t just him. Several bankers were free and still refused to help. The whole experience was unprofessional and disrespectful. At Chase, I can complete a wire in < 10 minutes. We chose Wells Fargo for relationship banking after opening a home loan, but this experience makes it clear they don’t value their customers at all.
