After the deal was completed and paid by other means the merchant also charged my CC. I disputed and Altura denied the claim despite showing them Emails, communication w merchant etc. don’t trust this bank to be a consumer advocate!!!!
- SGStacy GummsOct 23, 20251.0I’m extremely disappointed with how Altura Credit Union handled my situation. A fraudulent account was opened in my name around June 2020 while I was deployed overseas, and despite repeated disputes and requests, Altura has refused to properly investigate or provide proof that I ever opened or used this account. Their fraud department has been rude, dismissive, and unprofessional — one representative even refused to escalate my case or review my documentation. I asked multiple times for a copy of the signed loan agreement or account application, and they could not provide one. Yet, Altura continues to report a “loan charge-off” with a $0 balance on my credit reports, which makes no sense and damages my reputation and credit standing. No consumer deserves this kind of treatment, especially after becoming a victim of identity theft. I strongly urge Altura Credit Union to take accountability, train their staff in proper fraud procedures, and fix their broken reporting process.
