- MOM OSep 26, 20221.0I'm a late 60's senior living in the Palm Springs area. I decided I wanted to open a checking account at Well Fargo so I went down to the closest branch office today (east Palm Canyon at Smoketree). The lady at the front counter informed me that I would need to make an appointment later in the week that she only had (1) banker working. My car was in the repair shop and I had borrowed a car for only today so I drove down to another branch on south Palm Canyon. I walked in and basically got the exact same story right down to only having (1) banker working and would need to make an appointment later in the week. I left that branch and drove down to U.S. Bank where I was greeted by a banking officer. I told her what I needed and she immediately took me into her office and setup the new account. What has happened to banking in general and especially at Wells Fargo that banks are empty of customers and employees? I remember a few years ago when Wells Fargo wanted new accounts so bad they were opening them themselves without the customers knowing. Here you have a person (me) who simply wanted to open a simple checking account and they tell him they can't because they don't have the time or employees to do it.
